# Offline Mode: Keep Working Where There's No Signal

The places that most need inspecting are often the places with the worst signal: basements, plant rooms and remote parts of site. When the app needs a connection, inspections there get noted on paper and written up later, or put off until someone can get back to a spot with coverage. Release 8 adds Offline Mode. Download what you need beforehand, work offline, and your changes sync automatically when you're back online.

#### Why This Matters

Every inspection recorded away from the point of work is one more chance for details to be lost or misremembered. Re-entering notes later also doubles the effort, and issues found in a dead zone can wait hours before they're raised. With Offline Mode, the checklist and the snag are captured where the work is, whatever the signal, and reach everyone else as soon as you reconnect.

#### What's New?

* **Download before you go.** Download checklists and responses ahead of time so they're available without a connection.
* **Work with no signal.** Fill in and work on the downloaded checklists and responses while offline.
* **Automatic sync.** Your changes sync automatically once you're back online.
* **Snags offline.** Raise and action snags while offline.

#### How It Helps: Three Example Use Case Scenarios

A Site Engineer heading into a basement plant room downloads the day's checklists and responses before going down. They complete the inspections with no signal, and everything syncs automatically when they come back up.

During the same inspection, the engineer finds a damaged pipe bracket and raises a snag against the answer on the spot, rather than making a note to raise it later.

A Quality Manager covering a remote part of a large site works through the day offline. Once back in coverage, their responses and snags sync automatically and appear for the rest of the team without any re-entry.

#### Key Considerations & Caution Points

**Download first:** checklists and responses need to be downloaded before you lose signal in order to work on them offline.

**Sync is automatic:** changes made offline sync automatically once you're back online, so there's no separate upload step.

**Snags included:** snags can be raised and actioned while offline.
