🌟The New Gantt!
Focus with Date Range, see roll-ups at a glance, and adjust with drag-and-drop!
We introduce the New Gantt UI: a cleaner layout with faster control for day‑to‑day planning and review. It keeps the exports and reports you rely on while sharpening focus where work happens, from look‑aheads to monthly summaries.
A consistent property panel across Gantt, Table, and Takt means you carry the same actions everywhere and reduce context switching. Switch views with confidence, keep your schedule in one place, and move from update to decision without losing your place.
Why This Matters
Planners need to spot risk early, adjust quickly, and show clear status at any level without extra tooling. The new design reduces navigation time and keeps table and chart interactions tidy, lowering cognitive load in stand‑ups.
Baseline control and Critical Path give a contract‑ready view of time risk when schedules move. Teams gain consistent actions across views, so onboarding speeds up and reviews are easier to run.
What are we covering with the new Gantt?
Focus your window with Date Range and Jump to Today; scroll the task table and chart independently; drag or reschedule tasks in place; open a parent task panel to see sub‑task count, roll‑up status, constraints and progress. Use the unified task panel to define predecessors and successors, set or select baselines, toggle Critical Path, and colour tasks by trades; access checklists and model links directly from the same panel.
Add, resize, and reorder columns; drag and re‑arrange rows; show progress bars on Gantt bars; use a global filter to zero in on what matters.
Save or reopen configurations, keep PDF/Excel exports, and import plans inline when needed for fast updates. Key actions like duplicate, split, convert, delete, and copy sit in a clear toolbar when a task is selected, so edits stay deliberate.
How It Helps
You plan faster, with fewer clicks and clearer context, which shortens meetings and speeds follow‑ups. Roll‑ups show real progress at parent level, so reviews move from debate to decisions with a single source of truth.
Trade colours and Plan vs Actual make handoffs and slippage visible at a glance, helping crews stay unblocked. Baseline overlays and Critical Path highlight time risk early, giving you a defensible narrative for recovery plans.
Key Considerations & Caution Points
Scope notes: Cost module and Safety Notes are not in the Task Property Panel. Parent task counts exclude the parent itself, and the Multi-select panel also omits the parent from its task count.
BIM links & visibility: Clicking Model/Markup items in Model Links does not open split view or focus the element. The “Visible in Takt” toggle for milestones is not available.
Controls not active in this release: The following settings are inactive—Safety check confirmation; restrict start/completion with constraints; mandate reasons for all reschedules; system automation history for parent tasks; restrict Reschedule for Standard Users; restrict Multiselect. The checklist trigger on Reschedule is also inactive.
Limits: Relationship lag range is −1000 to +1000. Multi-select supports up to 1,000 tasks at a time.
