🌟Decisions, Captured.

Keep rationale with the constraint so teams act with context, not guesswork!

Context and introduction

Constraints are the blockers that stop planned work from moving forward. This update brings History and Comments into every Constraint in VisiLean, so each blocker carries its story from the first flag to final clearance. You can now see how a constraint evolved over time and why decisions were made. Notes and replies sit beside the record, so context stays at the point of work rather than scattered across chats or email.

Why This Matters

On busy projects, people rotate, shifts change, and subcontractors roll on and off; details get lost. With a time‑stamped history and on‑record reasoning, you gain clear accountability, stronger internal reviews, and support for contract defence.

Teams stop chasing messages and pick up the thread exactly where the work happens. Handover becomes cleaner, and decisions are visible, auditable, and easy to find when questions arise.

What’s New?

History lists who changed what and when in strict order, including status updates and parameter edits. Comments allow notes and threaded replies directly on the constraint, capturing rationale and actions in one place. Each entry is tied to the same record, so anyone with access can follow the story quickly and contribute with confidence.

How It Helps

Key highlights

  • Single source of truth for every constraint and its decisions.

  • Fewer meetings and faster unblocks through on‑record reasoning.

  • History patterns surface recurring risks for proactive action.

  • Stronger position for claims and delay discussions with evidence ready.

  • Smoother handovers across shifts and subcontractors.

  • Less support noise about “why did this change?” because the answer is in the record.

3 example use case scenarios

  1. Access blocked by an adjacent trade is noted with dates and a short rationale; the PM reviews the thread, agrees actions, and adjusts the plan with confidence.

  2. A design query is raised, clarified by the engineer in comments, and the status moves from Pending to Cleared with the reasoning preserved for later audits.

  3. A material delivery delay is captured as constraint and in History alongside follow‑up notes; the combined record supports a fair extension discussion and avoids rework during close‑out.

Key Considerations & Caution Points

Source of truth — For the Classic Constraints listing screen, Once saved, notes appear in History. For now, they may still linger in the Notes input; this is temporary and will be removed. Do not re-save; review the History instead.
