Aconex Integration: Access Project Documents Where You Work

Managing project documents across multiple platforms can be time-consuming and error-prone. With many teams using Oracle Aconex to handle submittals and design files, toggling between systems often leads to delays, duplication, or confusion. Responding to direct requests from most of you, we’re introducing a new integration in VisiLean that brings Aconex documents into your workflow—right where your tasks live.
Why This Matters
Construction teams rely on the latest drawings, specifications, and approval records to keep projects on track. When those files are locked in another system, even a small delay can cause rework or miscommunication. With this update, teams no longer need to download files from Aconex and upload them into VisiLean manually. Instead, your project documents are a few clicks away—helping your team stay coordinated and informed.
What's new?
Users can now access Aconex documents directly from the Task > Attachments section in VisiLean’s classic interface. Once authenticated, users can select their Aconex project and fetch specific files. This is a simple file-based integration, designed to make document handling easier without disrupting your existing process. No additional tools or setup are required once the integration is active.
How It Works
Split View transforms your workspace into a visual planning hub. It allows planners, engineers, and site teams to monitor tasks, resources, and design zones in parallel. With View Sync Mode and Trade Colour support, users can focus on zone-specific tasks while preserving an overview of the broader plan. It's a practical tool that sharpens insight and strengthens coordination.

Key Considerations & Caution Points
Classic UI Only: This integration is currently available in the old (classic) VisiLean interface. It is not yet supported in the new UI.
One-Way File Access: This is a read-only integration—users can download files from Aconex into VisiLean but cannot upload files back to Aconex.
Full File Support: Any file type supported by Aconex can be accessed and added to the Attachments section of a task in VisiLean.
Authentication Duration: Once logged in, users will stay authenticated for 7 days unless they choose to log out manually. After 7 days, re-authentication is required.
File Access Location: All files fetched from Aconex will appear in the Attachments panel of the relevant task, maintaining easy traceability.
Early Release: This is an early access release, and we’re actively gathering feedback to enhance the feature in future updates.
